The interventions delivered at St Peter’s Collegiate Academy are selected because they are evidence-based and they are designed to meet the needs of the students. We are extremely proud of the diversity and difference within our school community and we celebrate these across the academy.

Aligned with the five evidence-based recommendations of the Education Endowment Foundation, we uphold the belief that every teacher is responsible for high quality provision for all students, including those with SEND. Our focus is delivering quality first teaching to all students, ensuring that every lesson is inclusive and accessible. At St. Peter's Collegiate Academy, we view student support as a collective responsibility, involving every member of our community. Each individual plays a vital role in offering high-quality teaching, engaging experiences across all aspects of the curriculum, and pastoral care.

For students identified as requiring additional support, we provide a variety of interventions adapted to their specific needs. These include, but is not limited to:

• In-class or extracurricular support is offered, as needed, ensuring students can access learning opportunities in their regular educational environment.

• When appropriate, students may participate in specialist small teaching groups, allowing for focused instruction which is tailored to their learning requirements.

• We design bespoke interventions to address a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring that each student receives the support necessary for their academic growth.

• Teaching resources are adapted by specialists, ensuring that materials are accessible and relevant to each student's learning style and ability.

Our SEND team collaborates with teaching staff to deliver tailored curriculum support, aiming for every child to thrive. Though our students may not always perceive this assistance directly, it's customised to their needs, ensuring each student flourishes.
