  • St Peter's Collegiate Academy Celebrates Recent Achievements

We are delighted to announce that St Peter's Collegiate Academy has achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2023/24 academic year. This prestigious award is part of a Government-led scheme, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust, which recognises schools for their commitment to developing competition both within the school and across the community.

    Celebrating Student Success

This year, we proudly witnessed a remarkable number of young people competing in local inter-school competitions, and we extend our heartfelt congratulations to all our students for their dedication to school sports. Special thanks also go to our young volunteers, leaders, and officials who made these competitions possible.

    Hard Work Recognised

In our application for the School Games Mark, we successfully fulfilled criteria across several areas, including participation, competition, workforce, and clubs. The hard work of everyone at our academy has truly paid off, and we look forward to applying for this honour again in 2025!

    Rights Respecting Schools Award

In addition to this achievement, we are proud to announce that St Peter's Collegiate Academy has been awarded the RRSA Bronze: Rights Committed School status. The Rights Respecting Schools Award places children’s rights at the heart of school life in the UK.

    Creating Safe and Inspiring Environments

Facilitated by the UK Committee for UNICEF, this initiative aims to create safe and inspiring environments for children to learn, where they are respected, their talents are nurtured, and they can thrive. By embedding these values into our daily school life, we provide our children with the best opportunities to lead happy, healthy lives and become responsible, active citizens.

A Journey Towards Rights Respecting Status

Utilising the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) as our guide, we join over 5,000 schools across the UK that are working towards the gold award. The Rights Respecting Schools Award recognises our efforts in putting the UN Convention into practice, allowing both children and the school community to learn about and advocate for children’s rights.

    Key Areas of Impact

Our journey towards becoming a fully Rights Respecting School focuses on four key areas: wellbeing, participation, relationships, and self-esteem. The positive impact of this initiative extends beyond the school gates, benefitting the entire community by fostering healthier, happier, and more engaged children.

    Commitment to Music Education

Lastly, we are thrilled to announce that Wolverhampton Music Service, in association with Music Mark, will offer our school Music Mark membership for 2024-2025. This membership acknowledges our commitment to music education and participation in events associated with the Black Country Music Hub and their partners. We are excited about the support this membership will provide as we continue to develop and deliver a broad and balanced music curriculum.

    Congratulations to Our Community

Congratulations to all our staff and students for these remarkable achievements! Together, we continue to inspire excellence and foster a nurturing environment for our young people.
