Welcome to the Year 7 Transition Information page, firstly we have a welcome from your Head of Year 7 and the Assistant Head of Year 7 along with some key information.

May we begin by saying a big ‘well done’ to all our New Intake students for completing Key Stage 2, the Primary Phase of your education; working so hard to achieve the results you so deserve, particularly in your recent SATs assessments.

As Head of Year 7 and Assistant Head of Year 7 at St Peter’s Collegiate Academy, we welcome you to the next, exciting phase of your education. It is our responsibility to ensure your move from Primary School to Secondary is as smooth as possible, that you settle into the demands of life at St Peter’s quickly. It is our belief that if you feel safe at school, then your happiness will lead to you achieving your full potential.

Year 7 is a time of great change, new challenges and opportunities. New subjects, new friends, new teachers and new demands on you as a student. The focus of your first year at St. Peter’s will be all about making a good start, settling into good routines, making positive choices about how you engage with your work, making good relationships with your teachers and fellow students. You have already made a fantastic start by returning of all the information and forms we have requested from you – so we are already getting to know you!

If you have yet to return the forms please do so here

We will get to know you better when staff from St Peter’s come to visit you at your Primary School during the next few weeks to meet you and your Year 6 teacher, answering any questions you may have about your Transition to ‘Big School’ and to explain to you about Transition Day.

Then, when Transition Day arrives on Thursday July 7th you will have an opportunity to spend a day here at St Peter’s working with your new Form Tutors, starting to make new friends, experiencing lessons with specialist subject staff. We also look forward to meeting Parents and Carers later the same day at New Intake Evening.

Everyone here at St Peter’s is very much looking forward to welcoming you into Year 7 and we hope that by the time you join us on ( Insert date here ) for your first day as a Year 7 student, you already feel you are part of the St Peter’s family
