On Tuesday afternoon The Business Department had the great pleasure of welcoming Ashleigh Davies, who is an ex-student, to run a ‘Black Girls in Business’ workshop. Ashleigh talked to the girls about her amazing journey so far from school until now and how she has excelled at running her own business alongside her husband. (Erban Homes).

She taught the girls the importance of being confident and motivated in achieving their dreams, to have the right mind set, skill set and self-love. She’s also a strong advocate for having a work life balance. She clearly has a zest for life and was able to articulate this to the girls in an inspiring way.

Our students absolutely loved the afternoon. Mazvita told me “I am grateful to have had this opportunity. It is really uplifting and will impact me in so many ways that I am excited about what the future brings.”

Faith said “I have learnt new things about myself. Ashleigh has given me the motivation to be true to yourself and has energised me to work hard and succeed in my future”

All the girls agreed that the workshop was inspiring and we would all like to thank Ashleigh for giving her time out of her extremely busy schedule. We look forward to welcoming her back in the very near future.
