St Peter’s SLAM! Basketball Academy is a unique partnership between St Peter’s Collegiate Academy sixth-form and Team Wolverhampton SLAM! Basketball Club. One of the city’s top further educational institutions joins forces with Wolverhampton’s number one junior basketball club, to provide an outstanding education and sports development programme like no other.

Based at the Compton Road Campus, our sixth-form students will embark on a top quality academic and athletic program, which will provide the best opportunities to fulfil their basketball dreams.

Facilities:

• Two sports halls

• Gym with free weights

• Dedicated PE classroom

Whether it is to study or play at the university level, gain scholarships in the UK / USA or play basketball at the professional level; our students will have the teaching, coaching, mentoring and support to achieve their goals.

Academy Offer:

• 10 – 15 hours of training/development every week

• Team and individual coaching sessions

• Club-level league and cup competitions

• Participation in national and international camps, competitions and tournaments

• Strength and conditioning training

• Game film analysis

• Individual skill development programme’s

• Gain recognised basketball and sports development qualifications

Elite vs Development

The aim is for our program to meet the needs of all levels of basketball interests. Therefore our programme will cater for elite and development level student athletes. Our Elite team will compete in the College Basketball League (CBL) and U18 National Basketball League. Our development teams will compete in the Association of Colleges (AoC) and the YBL. We at St Peter’s Collegiate Academy are also hosting our own Central Venue League (CVL) from September 2022 where we will compete against other schools and colleges in and around the city and Black Country.
